Additional Available Side Trips in Costa Rica

Costa Rica has many great features which can be explored before, during or after a fishing trip. I can customize a package to include both touring & fishing.

*The Poas volcano and La Paz waterfalls are located in a mountainous area approx an hours drive from the San Jose airport. Here you find cooler weather and spectacular views of the surrounding terrain. The La Paz waterfalls are a sight not to be missed.

*La Fortuna: A three hour drive or short flight from San Jose. The mighty Arenal volcano towers over the area. There are many places here where you can soak in the natural hot Springs which flow down from the Volcano. Lake Arenal is also and interesting place to visit.

*Jaco in the Central Pacific is a fun surfing & fishing meca with lots of nightlife and close by to the high end, American resort and Golf Club of Los Suenos. Nearby Tarcalos river is a great place for a boat tour to view bird and other wildlife including huge Crocodiles.

*Quepos in the Central Pacific is where I operate most of my fishing trip. This is the home to Manual Antonio National Park and the modern Pez Vela Marina where you’ll find many shops, bars and restaurants. Inside the National Park you can view wildlife such as Monkey’s, Sloths, Tropical Whitetail deer, many birds and find beautiful beaches.

* Tortuguero: Located on the Caribean side of the county is where several large rivers enter the ocean. The scenic mangroves are the perfect place to view birds and other wildlife. Excellent Tarpon fishing can be found in this area.

*Monteverde Cloud forest Reserve: With over 100 species of mammals, 400 species of birds, 120 reptiles and amphibians, and 3,000 types of plants, this is one of the most biodiverse places on Earth.
